First fix is the term used for the first phase of constructing a building. This phase of construction is everything from the laying foundations up to the point ready for plastering.

Second fix is the tasks that happen after the plastering process. This is to ensure the building has all the woodwork completed.

Final fix is where all types of ironmongery, fixtures and fittings are installed and checked. The building starts to look complete at this stage.
